Building a dub siren pt.5

I have now recived a modified schematic. I discussed the modifications at a electronics forum and a guy helped me out. I'm not really sure of how the result will be. I've handed the schematic over to an acquaintance whom will take a look at it aswell.
The next step now is to get a card to solder on to. And get the extra parts needed för the modifications.

Stay tuned!

Building a dub siren pt.4

Today I recived a bunch of electronics. Now I need to find a solution for implementing an extra 555chip that I want to use to modulate the signal from the schmatic from interruptor.
Everything for the Velleman siren is here but I have changed the dip switch to a rotary potentiometer with 4 positions. And the trim pot is replaced with a bigger potentiometer aswell.
Now I need to figure out what kind of card I need to solder all of the electronic on to. And how to get the potentiometers in a good place.

To be continued...

Building a dub siren pt.3

Yesterday the first part arrived.
It is a box, an audio out 1/4 jack and 6 Knobs.
Know im waiting for the rest of the electronics to arrive. And a sollution to integrate a puls wave modulation to the interruptor schematic.
I think this box is going to be great!

Building a dub siren pt.2

This weekend i placed an order of almost every thing for the EKSSBOX.
Enclosure, knobs, switches and eletronics. The main problem to solve right know is how to include the LFO 2.
On my schematic there is only one sound generator and one LFO pitch modulator, i think that the LFO makes a triangle wave and i want to implement a puls wave pitch LFO aswell. It would be great thou, if the extra LFO could switch between puls wave and sawtooth wave.
Maybe some of the compnents order will have to be changed for the extra LFO to fit, but hopefully it is possible to conect the extra LFO right in at the chain somewhere.
I will discuss this with my friend Magnus this week.

Stay tuned for more info and pictures when the components have arrived.

Building a dub siren pt.1

This is a sketch of how I want the thing too look like.

I've started colleting electronic schematics to build my own dub siren / sound effect box.
Tonight I will discuss the project with my friend Magnus who is educated in the area of electronics.
I have found some schematics that some how will be built in the same box integrating with one and others.
The first schematic is this one from interruptor dub site: DIY Dub siren
The other schematic is a Velleman siren kit found here.

I will let you know how the process goes, maybe post some pictures and toughts here.

Peace!
/Erik
